There’s no one more famous and admired than Banksy in the world of grafitti and street art. You may also say there’s also no one more mysterious and puzzling too. Probably that’s part of his charm. The streets of England have been already enjoying for a while the works of an artist who lives and paints in the shadows, of whom we know no face nor real name, but who has managed to auction some of his pieces for 700.000 euros. Achieving this in a world completly dependent on marketing and advertising is really a feat.
Well, this reference in wall deco is coming to our screens and even to our festivales. He has made a documentary about the evolution of street art, using his experience and career as a starting point. However, it doesn’t look like he’s going to reveal much about himself, but rather he’ll be creating a chronology of urban art.
His work, ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop‘ will be present even at our Festival de San Sebastián promising to both impact and dsiturb consciences. For provocation is essential to Banksy, particularly if there are other artists involved.
